Vietnam Proposes 10-Year Golden Visa to Attract Global Talent and Investors

Vietnam’s Tourism Advisory Board (TAB) has proposed a new long-term visa scheme aimed at attracting international experts, high-net-worth individuals, and skilled professionals. The proposal suggests introducing a “Vietnam Golden Visa” valid for five to ten years and renewable, offering a significant extension compared to the current one- to two-year visa options.

There are 3 main Visa categories in the Proposal:

  • Golden Visa: A renewable visa valid for five to ten years, targeting affluent foreigners, retirees, investors, and skilled talent. Benefits include multiple entries, business investment opportunities, and a simplified residency pathway.
  • Investor Visa: A 10-year visa with a pathway to permanent residency after five years, contingent upon maintaining investment levels
  • Talent Visa: A five-year visa with a simplified renewal process, aimed at attracting skilled professionals.

The TAB recommends piloting these visa schemes in key locations such as Phu Quoc Island, Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, and Da Nang, where infrastructure and services are more developed.

This initiative aims to enhance Vietnam’s competitiveness in the regional tourism market and attract long-term foreign residents.
